We want Google Poetics to showcase diverse views, including yours. If you have a story to share, tell us about it!
Email your story pitch. Include links to writing samples or a blog if you have them. Your pitch should summarize your story idea and estimate the length (our stories are typically 300-700 words).
We DO NOT accept promotional or advertorial posts.
What We Want:
Smart, insightful stories that inform, inspire, and entertain our readers. We love the humorous and intriguing aspects of Google search autocompletes: animals, events, gifs, NSFW, photography, travel, videos, humor, politics, sport, fashion, cars, and entertainment. Read some recent articles to understand our vibe.
We get hundreds of pitches but only publish the best. Here’s how to rise above:
- Start strong. Your first lines should grab readers immediately.
- Make a point. Share a unique, relatable viewpoint and perspective.
- Write conversationally, not formally.
- Put a positive spin on it. Avoid the snarky and mean.
What We Don’t Want:
Google Poetics won’t publish personal letters, creative writing experiments, promotional content, or already-published pieces. Stories must be original and appropriate for our audience.
What We Really Don’t Want:
We won’t publish stories that appear elsewhere online, have inappropriate topics, or inflammatory content. Please review our Terms before submitting.
We wish we could respond to every pitch but can’t. If it’s a fit, we’ll be in touch!
